Dillon Gisch is currently a PhD Candidate in Classical Archaeology at Stanford University, where he writes about visual culture. In the past, he has excavated at Cosa and Poggio Civitate—both in Italy—and worked as a gallerist at Davidson Galleries in Seattle. He received his BA in Art History and Classical Studies from the University of Washington and currently lives in Palo Alto.
Long Bio
Dillon Gisch is currently a PhD Candidate in Classical Archaeology at Stanford University. There, he writes about visual culture, especially Hellenistic and Roman art, and has broad interests in how contemporary people mobilize the past in service of the present and future. Previously, he has excavated at Cosa and Poggio Civitate—both sites in central Italy—and worked as a gallerist of (early) modern works on paper at Davidson Galleries in Seattle. He received his BA in Art History and Classical Studies from the University of Washington and currently lives in Palo Alto.
